By that, I mean when Chris does.. For some reason, people seem to think my mud room looks too nice in pictures and sometimes they find it hard to believe that I should really call it a mud room.

You can see where this is going….A few weeks into the project, we had made some huge changes in the room and things were really moving along.

Then, a couple of things happened: 1) I got baby Jack to start sleeping really well in his crib at nap time, freeing us up just a bit during the day, and 2)Chris realized that he really did want to do more of this project himself so he could be sure that everything is absolutely perfect.Because it’s Chris. So we got the contractor to finish up what he was working on, paid him for those few weeks, and then we’ve started working in there ourselves.

Naturally, things have slowed down a lot but we’re definitely starting to get into the really fun stuff now!.(I’ll give three brownie points to anyone who can guess which color I’m painting this room!).

So much fun, right?

Honestly, because we’re trying to do lots of interesting things in here, we’re really stretching the limits of our capabilities, but we’re also learning so much along the way!.The opposite of what’s outside my window right now.

I hear 2 hours down the road there’s snow 6 feet high, so I really shouldn’t complain.Who can help but want Spring to come sooner though?.

My felt cut-out table runner and Pottery Barn Emma salt and pepper shakers.I got them for Christmas from my wonderful family, along with a bunch of other pieces and I stop to admire them at least once a day, so they’re staying out a little while longer before the Easter ones come out of the cupboard.. Blown out real eggs.
